About the event

This session will focus on learning how to identify trees and other forest plants. This event will be geared to individuals with no previous experience. This event is being hosted in collaboration with the Arlington Forest Protection Society and will provide an opportunity to explore their community-protected forest property.  The group will meet at the neighbouring property before setting out. Participants are encouraged to collect photo observations as part of the 2021 City Nature Challenge. If you have a smartphone, consider downloading the iNaturalist app in advance.

Dress for the weather! Boots highly recommended as we may encounter areas of wet forest.

The goal of the City Nature Challenge is to track biodiversity around the world. This friendly, international competition encourages people to find and document all the plants and wildlife they can find in their "city", using the iNaturalist platform. Kings County and Annapolis County have teamed together to form team Annapolis Valley for the 2021 CNC.

Help put team Annapolis Valley on the map by getting out and documenting nature from April 29-May 3!
