Agricultural Biodiversity Enhancement Opportunities
The Clean Annapolis River Project currently has funding to conduct biodiversity enhancing activities on agricultural lands. 2022 & 2023 opportunities include:

Planting shelterbelts and hedgerows

Planting shrubs and/or trees along waterways and ponds
​​

Installation of fencing to exclude livestock from waterways and wetlands and provision alternative watering sources (e.g. nose pumps)

Other activities that promote biodiversity may be eligible, please contact us if you have ideas​

Up to 100% of costs for materials and labour may be eligible, depending on the property, scale of work to be completed, and type of activity to be undertaken. To be eligible for this funding, properties must fit the following criteria:​

be actively farmng or part of an active farm operation;​

be in southwest Nova Scotia (Annapolis, Kings*, Digby, Queens, or Lunenburg Counties)​

Steps to participate:

Complete the expression of interest form below or contact our program manager, Brittni Scott. All interested participants will be contacted to discuss the activities they are interested in and their eligibility.

Complete a full application form for the specific activities you want to undertake.

Recieve notification from CARP on the eligibility of your proposed activities and the amount of funding and support available.

Recieve and sign a stewardship agreement.

Activity implementation with support from CARP or other project partners.
